TBI Architecture & Engineering has developed the design for QIAGEN’s new innovation centre in Barcelona and carried out the construction supervision. TBI has completed the integrated architecture, MEP and interior design executive project phase

The project transforms 6,000 m² of the former Braun factory in Esplugues de Llobregat into a new QIAGEN centre dedicated to research and innovation in the field of infectious diseases.

The building brings together laboratories, cleanrooms, production and storage areas, offices and corporate spaces within a single environment, accommodating nearly 400 professionals.

The intervention gives a former industrial site a new lease of life, combining the technical requirements of scientific research and production with a contemporary working environment.

QIAGEN’s establishment in the area further strengthens Barcelona and Catalonia’s position in the life sciences sector and in health-related research.
